1. Information We Collect

When you use inkanji, we collect the following information:

• Chat input text — The words, concepts, or names you enter for kanji translation
• Anonymous identifier — A randomly generated cookie (anonymous_id) used to associate your translation history across sessions
• Translation results — The kanji suggestions generated for your queries
• Email address — Only when you purchase a Native Verified report, to deliver review results

We do not collect your name or other personally identifiable information unless you contact us directly or make a purchase that requires it.

2. Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. When you purchase a report, your payment information (credit card number, billing address) is sent directly to Stripe and is never stored on our servers. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your payment data.

3. AI Processing

Your chat input text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for kanji translation and cultural analysis. This text is processed in real-time and is subject to Anthropic's terms of service.

4. Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our site. Google Analytics collects information such as page views, session duration, and approximate location. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage

Your conversation logs and translation history are stored in our database hosted on Supabase. This data is associated with your anonymous identifier and is used to provide your translation history feature and improve our service.

6. Cookies

We use a single first-party cookie (anonymous_id) for session identification. This cookie contains a randomly generated UUID and is used solely to associate your translations with your browsing session. It does not track you across other websites. Google Analytics may also set its own cookies for analytics purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to data associated with your anonymous ID
• Request deletion of your data
• Clear your anonymous_id cookie at any time through your browser settings

To exercise these rights, please contact us with your anonymous_id (found in your browser cookies) so we can locate your data.
