1. Service Description
inkanji is an AI-powered kanji translation service designed specifically for tattoo purposes. We use artificial intelligence to suggest kanji characters that match your intended meaning, along with cultural context and analysis.
2. Payment Terms
inkanji offers the following paid services:
- Tattoo-Ready Report — $4.99 per report. Includes AI-powered cultural analysis, dictionary cross-verification, and font recommendations.
- Native Verified — $9.99 per report. Includes everything in the Tattoo-Ready Report plus review by a native Japanese speaker, expert notes, and one follow-up question.
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. inkanji does not store your credit card information. Prices are in USD and may be subject to change with prior notice.
3. Refund Policy
As our reports are digital content delivered immediately upon purchase, we generally do not offer refunds. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing your purchased report, please contact us at support@inkanji.com and we will resolve the issue or provide a refund.
4. Important Disclaimer — AI Limitations
Tattoos are permanent. inkanji uses AI (artificial intelligence) to generate kanji translations and cultural analysis. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. We strongly recommend:
- Consulting with a native Japanese speaker before getting your tattoo
- Verifying the kanji with your tattoo artist
- Purchasing a Native Verified report for professional human review
- Cross-referencing our suggestions with independent sources
inkanji provides AI-generated suggestions as a research tool, not as a definitive or authoritative source. The final decision to get a tattoo is entirely yours. inkanji, its operators, and its AI providers are not liable for any tattoos based on our suggestions, nor for any errors or omissions in AI-generated content.
5. Intellectual Property
The kanji characters themselves are part of the Japanese writing system and are not owned by inkanji. However, our AI-generated reports, cultural analyses, and the overall service design are the intellectual property of inkanji. You may use the kanji suggestions and reports for personal use, including getting a tattoo.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or programmatically access the service without authorization
- Resell or redistribute reports or AI-generated content for commercial purposes
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.
7. Privacy
Your use of inkanji is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data, including the use of cookies and analytics.
8. Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without prior notice. We may also update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, inkanji and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the preceding 12 months.
